Kính thưa quý vị quan khách, Quý Đồng hương, các cháu Hậu duệ VNCH,
Năm qua, cũng tại Tượng đài Chiến sĩ Việt Mỹ vùng Southwest Houston này, Lễ TƯỞNG NIỆM 30-4 đã được cử hành trong khi dịch COVID-19 đang bộc phát; và hôm nay Lễ Tưởng Niệm được tổ chức khi nạn dịch đang trên đà thuyên giảm.
Qua một năm thật nhiều biến cố: chính trị, đại dịch, thiên tai, thành công có, thất bại cũng nhiều. Nhưng đau buồn thay hôm nay nhiều đồng hương, chiến hữu, bạn bè, thân quyến không còn với chúng ta.
Dù nhiều thay đổi, nhưng ngày Quốc Hận 30-4 vẫn được đều đặn tổ chức hàng năm, và rừng cờ vàng-ba-sọc-đỏ tượng trưng cho chính thể VNCH vẫn ngạo nghễ tung bay khắp cùng năm châu.
Thưa quý vị, Chế độ CS chỉ là niềm tin bị đánh mất, một chủ thuyết thất bại, một mẫu thời trang lỗi thời! Hãy nhìn khối CS Đông Âu và các nơi khác trên toàn thế giới dần dà bị sụp đổ bởi chủ trương đi ngược nền văn minh nhân loại. Con cờ Domino-Đỏ trong ván cờ Domino, sớm muộn sẽ bị đánh đổ hay tự hủy diệt.
Các cháu Hậu Duệ VNCH,
- Các cháu là tương lai của Tổ Quốc Việt Nam!
- Các cháu được trang bị thứ võ trang không bằng súng đạn nhưng bằng kiến thức thấm nhuần lý tưởng Tự Do - Ái quốc - Công Bằng - Bác Ái - Nhân Quyền.
- Các cháu được thừa hưởng di sản tiền nhân, và tinh thần chiến đấu cho Tự do của thế hệ cha ông Chống chủ thuyết Vô thần, bởi vì con người có Tổ tiên - Nòi giống, là nền tảng vững chắc khó lay chuyển.
Nhân ngày Quốc Hân 30-4, thế hệ cha ông trao "ngọn đuốc" tượng trưng sứ mạng đấu tranh cho Tự Do - Dân chủ đến thế hệ Hậu duệ VNCH để tiếp tục hành trình; Vậy các cháu,
- Hãy nối vòng tay lớn với các Hậu Duệ VNCH khắp cùng năm châu!
- Hãy chuyển lửa này đến các sinh viên Việt tại hải ngoại và các bạn trẻ ở quê nhà!
- Hãy kêu gọi các bạn Đồng Minh Hoa Kỳ và Thế giới cùng hợp tác, bởi tranh đấu đơn độc khó có thể thành công!
- Hãy đoàn kết trong mọi hành động; bởi đó là chìa khóa của thành công và sự thành tựu vượt xa tài sức của một cá nhân!
Người xưa có câu: "Vạn sự khởi đầu nan". Ngày nay, nhà thơ Eugene F. Ware đã viết "All Glory Comes From Daring to Begin".
Phương thức đấu tranh xưa và nay khác nhau, nhưng Sứ Mạng và Mục tiêu không thay đổi. Các cháu đừng nãn lòng, hãy kiên trì bởi vì "Có Công Mài Sắt có Ngày nên Kim".
Toàn dân Việt đặt kỳ vọng nơi các cháu và ước mong một ngày không xa rừng cờ Vàng-Ba-Sọc-Đỏ sẽ tung bay khắp cùng Việt Nam: từ Nam Quan đến Cà Mau, từ Trường Sơn đến Hoàng sa - Trường sa; đem Tự do - Bình đẳng - Nhân quyền - Công chính cho toàn dân Việt.

"Passing the Torch of Honor"

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Descendants of the Republic of Vietnam (RVN) also known as Viet Nam Cong Hoa (VNCH),
Last year at this location, the Vietnam War Memorial in Southwest of Houston, we commemorated the "April 30th" when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak. Today, the Memorial service is also being held here while the pandemic is receding.
Over the past year, there were many events affecting our lives such as politics, pandemic, disasters, successes and failures. Sadly today, many compatriots, comrades in arms, friends and relatives are no longer with us.
Despite many changes, "April 30th" memorial service is still regularly held year after year. The "Tri-Red-Striped Yellow flag" symbolic of the Republic of Vietnam is still flying across five continents maintaining the spirit of the National Day which is at the hearts of the Vietnamese who loves Freedom and Democracy.
So that today we commemorate the ARVN, reserved forces, civilians and our Allies . . . who sacrificed their lives in Vietnam war, in Communist re-education jails or on exile for Freedom. And today, those who sacrificed their lives to defend and protect our government remember, and their descendants know the reasons why we are here. Time flies by so fast, and now the elder generation is ready to pass the "torch of honor" to the descendants. It's the time the elder generation should provide guidance and advise the younger generation to continue their path.
Ladies and gentlemen, Communism is just a failed belief, a failed doctrine, and an outdated fashion! Look at the Eastern European Communist bloc and elsewhere around the world and how they had collapsed; because communism is the doctrine against human civilization. A Domino-game for which the "Domino-in-Red" for the communist will sooner or later be perished or destroyed.
To our dear descendants of RVN,
· You are the future of the Vietnamese Motherland.
· You are equipped with weapons not by guns but with the knowledge of Freedom - Patriotism - Justice - Charity and Humanity.
· You inherit the legacy of our ancestors, and the spirit of fighting for Freedom from the previous generation against the spirit of Atheism; because we have ancestors; a solid and unshakable foundation.
On the spirit of the April 30th remembrance, the elder generation pass the "torch" symbolizing the mission of fighting for Freedom and Democracy to our descendants to continue their journey; for that,
· Let's join hands with the RVN's descendants around the world!
· Let's share the fire of this "torch" to the Vietnamese students oversea and to the youth in our homeland!
· Let's exchange this spirit with the American and World Allies; and ask them to join forces, because fighting alone can hardly succeed!
· Be united in every action; because it is the key of success and the achievement far exceeds the power of one individual!
The proverb has said: "The first step is always the hardest ".
Today the Poet Mr. Eugene F. Ware wrote: "All Glory Comes From Daring to Begin".
The method and strategy of fighting in the past and present are different, but the mission and the goal has never changed. Do not be discouraged, but persevere because as we "Keep sharpening an iron bar, some day it will become a needle, sharp and useful".
The Vietnamese people, this community have high expectations of you and wish that one day, not too far, the "Tri-Red-Striped Yellow flag" will fly all over Vietnam: from Nam Quan to Ca Mau, from the Truong Son mountain to the islands Hoang sa - Truong sa; and then Freedom - Equality - Human Rights - Justice will be everlasting to the Vietnamese people.
